About The ShowSnake Oil is a labor of love conceived, created, and cared for by yours truly, Adam. We throw around the phrase, "The Outskirts of Nashville" a lot to describe what we play, but really, that's the only way to describe it. We play everything that has the old soul, the old sound, the old feeling of Nashville, before it earned it's now well earned moniker of 'Cashville'. They aren't talking about Johnny when they say that, either :). That doesn't mean everything sounds like Merle, though. What it means is that the first time you listen to it, it has that unmistakable feeling of old, handmade music. It could be the Drive By Truckers cranking it up, or Norah Jones silky smooth voice aching just a bit, or John Prine as he winks at you through his lyrics...but they all have a common bond, and finding it is what Snake Oil is all about. Alt-Country to Bluegrass to Folk to Southern Rock to Singer/Songwriter to Roots to Local Favorites to the Outlaw legends...we play it all. Except for music row, that is. You know looking at it, maybe the line should be... "The Outcasts of Nashville" Kinda has a ring to it, huh? Check out the feature artists section for more. |
